ABOUT
KILLEARN
Killearn Properties, Inc., began in 1964, with the idea of creating communities
that would cater to the lifestyles of the upwardly- mobile middle class. Through
recent years, the company has been extraordinarily successful in achieving this
goal and has been credited with "changing the way people live."
Killearn, headed by J.T. Williams and now in the second generation of Williams
family leadership, has developed two 4,000-acre master planned communities in
Tallahassee, Florida, known as Killearn Estates and Killearn Lakes Plantation. Killearn is currently in the midst of developing three golf course communities.
Eagle’s Landing is a 3,000-acre community in South Atlanta and home of the
Chick-fil-a Charity Championship. Kingwood Country Club & Inn is a golf
resort development near the city of Clayton, Georgia. Also, Killearn is
developing an exclusive golf course community on Lake Burton, Georgia known as
Waterfall Country Club.
In all Killearn communities, the natural beauty of the land is
carefully preserved and enhanced with long-range development plans that maintain
strict design standards. Killearn’s commitment to these regulations has
historically produced an increase in property values. Killearn has a reputation
of working with local government in a cooperative manner in order to provide
smart growth and quality growth for the area.
Because of the demand in the market there is a greater degree of
professionalism required from the land developers today. The developer must not
only be experienced in land planning; they must also have a handle on property management, tax planning, accounting, advertising and especially sales and
marketing. From the initial concept, through} the construction, and to the first
sale, Killearn has the experience and the contacts to insure the developments’
success. Killearn has a proven formula. We have developed communities where over
10,000 families live and work.
